Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The latest Far Cry title that players explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in chaos and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving engaging, ideologically themed stories. It’s no surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two producers whose creations have exemplified all of those qualities.
Show Details
Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by introducing a different setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.
“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their ongoing trust and support.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can change from year to year, while always examining the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our shared bold, visionary sensibility to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
