Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slam events during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments this season because of a health issue she has been battling over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu due to a lower back issue that has troubled her during parts of the season.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
