Nearly 55,000 homes have reportedly been harmed by the storms, with their belongings and temporary homes damaged.

Persistent storms over the recent period have intensified the already dire situation of the vast number of uprooted residents in the region, as stated by humanitarian groups.

"Terrible" Conditions Poses Severe Risks

A official described the weather overnight as "terrible", with rain so heavy that around 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the streets.

"The recent weather was exceptionally terrible for the people. The downpours were so powerful... And the gusts were so forceful," said the representative.

Authorities voice grave anxiety that minors residing in temporary structures in wet attire will succumb to hypothermia and various illnesses.

Deaths and Extensive Damage

The health ministry have confirmed that one baby has died from the cold and a minimum of 11 other people have been killed in structural failures caused by the severe weather.

Further statements put a greater death toll. Officials said that multiple homes had totally fallen and scores had sustained partial collapse.

Aid Operations Considered Not Enough

Agencies have increased shipments of tarpaulins, blankets and garments since the halt in hostilities began, but they emphasize there is still not enough aid entering.

"Agencies are striving constantly to provide that aid and to distribute it, but the scale of the needs is so enormous that we continue to see a great number of individuals and children who are truly suffering every night," cautioned one representative.

Long-Term Challenges and Ceasefire Plans

The second phase of the agreement encompasses proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the pullback of personnel, and other terms.

Relief organizations have underscored the imperative for "increased and sustained relief to respond to pressing and long-term requirements."

The hostilities was triggered by an offensive in October 2023. Following actions have caused a significant number of fatalities in the area, based on official reports.
