Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
